Reaction Saves Throughout history, man has played games primarily as a means to meet socially with others, to display skills and physical prowess, and to entertain or offer excitement. Many games and sports started as a form of preparation for war.
Many early cultures incorporated religious and political elements into their games, the ancient Greeks made little distinction between sport and war, with violence and bloodshed often being part of the early Olympic games. The artist have in these images consentrated on the similarities between warfare and, in this case, footballtactics. The quotes in the images are all gathered from handbooks written for players and football coaches.
