"I listened to many conversations and what I heard stirred up lots of fragmentary memories of things I had heard and read a long time ago. I put a considerable amount of energy into trying to reconstruct it. What I had completely forgotten, however, but remembered when Kenneth asked me if I could imagine a life together with someone like the man from Akseløya, was that I had acted out this event once, in a film. A film project that had crashed financially, with the working title of 'Ishavet' (The Ice Sea), shot on the north coast of Norway. In an abandoned hunting hut all kinds of things were preserved, furniture and letters. The letters revealed that a woman had lived there for a brief while. The scenes were shot outside of Stockholm with Gert Fylking as the hunter and me as the woman, sitting at the edge of the bed in a somewhat shabby nightgown and saying goodbye."
